Just the sound of her name invokes sunny beaches, and her roots on the US West Coast make Coryn Rivera the Californian Girl of Team Sunweb women’s team. A Californian Girl who can ride extremely fast!

Coryn has been riding a bike since she was nine years old and has, basically, never got off it since. And we’re not just talking about her racing bike: in recent years, she’s entered 71 (!) US national championships on her cyclocrosser, mountain bike, track bike and road racer.

After having won the US National Cyclocross Championships three times as a newcomer and junior, she decided to focus exclusively on road racing. Her professional career began with the US-based UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Women’s Team in 2014. Rivera is a sprinter and won a series of victories in smaller stage races before signing up with Team Sunweb in 2017.

During her first year in the Team Sunweb jersey, she underlined her reputation on this side of the Atlantic Ocean: she won the Tour of Flanders and gained third place on the podium at Gent Wevelgem.

Future perspective

Coryn Rivera has swapped sunny California for a team house in Sittard, the Netherlands. Although the start to her 2018 season has not been quite as successful as last season’s debut, we expect to hear a lot of this rider in future.
