It’s now well and truly 2019. This means that a whole bunch of professional riders (in new kits) are setting new goals for the bicycle racing season. And their training has started in earnest. Every rider prepares in their own way for the season ahead, as we can see from their social media channels.
Sagan in the snow
Peter Sagan ended 2018 on skis. He clearly enjoys his ‘off’ season. But as we can see in the caption, he’s as hungry as ever to start racing again. We’re really interested to see how he gets on on two wheels in 2019!
Team Sunwebs’ new squad
Team Sunweb kicked off 2019 in style with their annual team presentation in Berlin, just before the riders left for their training camp in Spain.

First win for Niki Terpstra
Niki Terpstra is riding for the French team Direct Energie this year. His transfer attracted no small amount of media attention. Meanwhile, Terpstra seems to be, with the exception of the language barrier, relatively settled in his team of (mainly French) riders. He has also booked his first victory. Terpstra and new teammate, Thomas Boudat, won the Rotterdam Six-Days track race series. Their form seems to be developing in style, ahead of the Spring racing season.
Proud Jumbo-Visma
Team Jumbo-Visma stands proud on the eve of the 2019 season. Totally understandable that they couldn’t resist posting a picture of their biggest recent signing Tony “Der Panzerwagen” Martin in his new team outfit.

Wise words from South Africa
Chris Froome trains, as he often does during the winter period, in the hills of South Africa. Even a rider of his calibre takes time to enjoy the view when he gets to the top of a climb. He also begins the year with some inspiring words!
